Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness on our 2018 Kia Soul. This kit is gonna give us a mostly plug and play system that feeds out into a four-pole wiring and by our hitch. This is gonna let us tow a trailer and have lighting signals at the back. You're gonna get your turn signals, your running lights and your brake lights so that if you are towing a small trailer with your Soul, people are gonna know your intentions going down the road and you're gonna be towing safely and legally. Now, it comes included with the dust cap over the top to keep the connector all safely tucked in, but it doesn't include any sort of mounting hardware, so you will need to consider how you're gonna mount it. more

Curt Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Kia Soul

Ryan: Hey, everybody. My name's Ryan and here at etrailer we install, test fit, and review a lot of different parts. That way, we can try to answer any questions those of you might have, and that's exactly what we're doing here today on our 2013 Kia Soul. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness. The wiring is going to provide us with the necessary lighting functions, not only to remain safe, but legal as well whenever we're pulling our trailer, because it's going to send those outputs out to the back of it, providing us with the stop, taillight, and turn signals. Not to mention too, some hitch-mounted accessories like cargo carriers and things of that nature actually have lights on them too that can illuminate, and the four-way connector will be able to power those up as well. This is a really well-built kit. It actually comes with a nice, thick rubber dust cap, and that's going to help keep the terminals in good condition. more

Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. If we use our optional brackets, otherwise we would just have it hanging from the safety chain loops. Now hasn't mentioned, this is a plug and play install, and furthermore, it is a non-powered unit, which means we don't have to run that pesky power wire up to the vehicle's battery, which saves a lot on our install time. The Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness is going to provide us with our basics functions for the smaller size trailers. It's going to have the running light circuit, the left and right stop and turn signal circuit as well as the right side, stop and turn signal circuits. more

Best 2016 Kia Soul Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2016 Kia Soul. Here we have the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness, and over here we have the CURT vehicle wiring harness. Now both of our kits are going to give us a four-pole flat to hook up to our trailer and give us all the required lights, such as our turn signals, stop lights, and clearance lights. Now both of them are going to stay on the outside of the vehicle until we're ready to use them. Let's take a closer look at some of the differences. Now one of the biggest differences, although it may be small, is the dust covers. Our CURT is going to have a removable and replaceable dust cover, whereas our Tekonsha is going to be built in. Now the way these are both going to be installed is we're going to have a t-connector that's going to go in between our taillights and our wiring from our vehicle. Now one benefit that CURT does have as far as installation goes is that the wires are going to be somewhat smaller at the connection points compared to the Tekonsha here, so it will be a little bit easier to get the wires in place behind our taillights. Now both our kits are going to have converter boxes so that we know that our trailer's going to get the right signal. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Kia Soul

Today on our 2016 KIA Soul we're going to be taking a look at, and installing, the Curt T connector wiring harness with four pull flat trailer connector, part number C56222. Here's what it looks like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, on this one we've got it mounted to a four pull bracket and a universal long bracket here just to help make it easy to access when necessary. What this does is allows you to have a location to plug your four fold trailer wiring into so that you can operate the lights on your trailer. It features a module box which helps to ensure that there's no electrical back feed into the vehicles electrical system to help protect the vehicle. Something that's nice about this wiring harness is that it doesn't have a power wire that you have to route all the way to the front and up to the battery as with some of these other trailer wiring harnesses. An issue that some people have run into when installing this wiring harness is having enough green wire to go from the drivers side tail light across to the passenger side tail light, but within the install video to follow we'll show you how we routed it in order to not have to add any wire. more

Today on our 2016 KIA Soul, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the T-one vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118637. Here's what it looks like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see there is very little showing, you've just got your 4 pole wiring right here where it's connected. It's the only thing that you are able to see. This kit allows you to gain access from the wiring in the vehicle to give you your lights needed here for 4-pole wiring. Here we got everything that is going to come with our kit. We've got a modulite box right here and what that's going to do is help to make sure the load on the vehicles electrical system is not too heavy and also it's going to help protect the vehicles electrical system in case there is any back feeding in the electrical from the trailer. Here coming off of this we got our 4-pole wiring, we've got our connectors that are going to go to each tail light. We got a ground wire and we've also got our power wire that's going to connect to this black wire here and run up to the battery. more
